Half Rooted in South Carolina

"I had a friend visiting from out of town so we visited Half Rooted. That was my VF it’s t time there. We were greeted by a very charming man who took the time to talk us through the menu & he made recommendations. He said they were known for their hamburgers so that’s what I ordered. It was so good my mouth was watering and I was saying “mmmmm” as I was eating it. I enjoyed the food so much that I went back a couple weeks later & ordered a burger to go. There was someone else working & my burger was not nearly as good. I ordered it well done & it came pink. I wish the same guy would have prepared my second burger…but maybe it’s a good thing it wasn’t as good. I live a block away & I would have gotten really fat eating their burgers all the time if the burgers always tasted like it did the first time."

"Patacon with shredded beef was soo good. Sweet from the pineapple sauce and lots of flavor from the ají. The paisa bowl is also a Colombian classic. Definetly recommend going. They should also consider hosting the Colombian soccer games and playing it on the TV."

"My new favorite Colombian street food restaurant in Greenville! Let me tell you, it is delicious!! we tried the Arepa with shredded beef, arepa de choclo, Colombian burguer, toston with shredded chicken, and the colombian hot dog. The arepa de choclo was the highlight of the night"

"The food is delicious. I ordered the mini paisa bowl and it transported me back to Colombia. Even the rice tasted like it had been made by my grandma lol. To me , the best empanadas are my moms but the ones here are really good ! They're way better than any of the ones I've tried around Greenville. So will def be stopping by for some whenever I'm craving empanadas and my mom is out of the country haha. I'm definitely going to take my parents to try it when they come visit."

"I got the arepa with shredded beef, and let me tell you, it was everything and then some! It was my first visit, I asked for their favorite menu item and said I wasn't super hungry. This did not disappoint. It was so flavorful, I'm just sad that I wasn't able to eat more because I definitely would have ordered more food. I will be back! Yeah, I took a pic after taking a bite. I kind of forgot, but you can see why. ¡Estuvo muy delicioso!"

"Run, don’t walk, to this INCREDIBLE hole-in-the-wall gem. Hands down the BEST burger I’ve eaten in recent memory, leagues above Scoundrel’s burger which I always use a benchmark (the only Michelin star restaurant in all of Greenville). The Arepas were also out of this world. Everything is packed with flavor and cooked with intentionality and love. Carlos, the owner, sweetened the experience with his 5-star service and friendly, down to earth personality. This is a must-visit any time you’re in Greenville. Can’t wait to come back and explore more of this delicious menu."

"I loved this place! We came on a Saturday string 11:15 and it was empty when we got here. I had vegan empanada trio with cashew mushroom filling. It comes with aji avocado-cilantro sauces and I added a side of the pineapple habanero jam. So good! Very crunchy, good mild flavor in the filling. My husband had the Columbian burger, double patty. Didn't come with sides but he liked it a lot. Atmosphere was nice, Latin American popular music playing. The inside is clean, airy, and nicely decorated. Recommend, will definitely come again."

"I stopped by for lunch and it was amazing! I ordered the Empanada trio with shredded beef and they were the best I’ve ever had. Crispy, filled with beef and potatoes, and freshly made. They were so good i ate two of them before realizing I had to take a picture and share. The inside was welcoming and the owner Carlos and staff talked with me while the food was being prepared. They made the experience so much better. I will be back for sure to taste more of awesome Columbian cuisine. Awesome experience !"
